Creating a basic new web site in Dreamweaver
is easy. This is what your screen should look like the first time you open Dreamweaver MX. |

Step 1 - Locate the files tap on the right side of the screen . When the menu is displayed the arrow will be pointing
down. When the menu is not displayed the arrow will be pointing
to the right. Click the arrow beside any menu to change between displaying and not displaying the information. |

Step 2 - Begin to create a new web site by selecting "Edit Sites..." from the drop down menu |
|
- Click the downward arrow illustrated.
|
Select Edit Sites from drop down menu.
|
Step 3 - The Edit Sites menu appears in the center of the screen. |
|
Click "New..." to start a new site.
|
|
Step 4 - Name your web site "My_Test_Site". |
|
Click "Next" to continue. |
|
Step 5 - Select the option "No,..." highlighted below. |
|

| Step 6 - Select the recommended option highlighted
below. |
|
|
|
|
Step 7 - Change the "Local/Network" option to "None" with the arrow selected. |
|

|
|
|
|
|
Step 8 - A summary of the options selected is displayed to verify your choices. |
|
|
|
Step 9 - Highlight your web site "My Test Site". This is a list for all web sites you create in Dreamweaver. |

Congratulations! This is what your program should look like now. |
